My own private apocalypse

The end of music

The end came when Alala's chorus (from a music (re)discovered by CSS on 2005) was played 333 times non stop for 33 hours on the 3rd of march, 1935 at a small club (full capacity: 333 people) in 3rd street on the third biggest city of Idaho during a blackout in the presence of a jade hound amulet hanging from the right earlobe of a fine young cannibal. This caused a terrible tsunami on the Gulf of S'glhuo. One third of its population died. The denizens of S'glhuo retaliated fortondoano, following Tru'nembra lead.
They completely destroyed the city of Monat on the Dreamlands thru music — right on time for the Mao games' apex as its final piece was being played at the Ool Athag theater — using harmonics that also obliterated all sound on the Dreamlands for 3 full seconds. This caused a total instability on our universe at the atomic level: mineral transmuted into vegetal, vegetal into animal and animal into mineral. The human race became brass foil as we sang our final song.

Scenario seed:
The investigators shall stop the music in time, following the cannibal. If they miss the opportunity on our world, there is another way (suitable for a pulp campaign): they can try to defend or at least alert Monat in the Dreamlands. Once there they may ask Randolph Carter for help and still save our world.

There shall be different results for partial success on this campaign.
If the players interrupt the ritual at the club after it has already begun the casualty for the human race is linearly proportional to the amount already played,i.e. If the players stop the ritual after 30% of it is completed, the result is a 30% casualty on the human race. If the players go to Monat and Carter helps them there is a 50% chance of victory. Without his help the chance of survival of Monat and our universe is a mere 5%.
